5-hour ENERGY® Continues To Support Breast Cancer Awareness

October may be over, but our efforts to support breast cancer awareness are still in full swing. By now you've probably seen our ads for the new raspberry flavor of 5-hour ENERGY®, and you know that we will donate five cents from the sale of every bottle (through 12/31/13) to Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a national nonprofit education and support organization serving women and families affected by breast cancer.

In addition to the donation, we've had a whole lot of fun promoting the cause by sponsoring Dover International Speedway's NASCAR Nationwide Series race, which was billed as the "5-hour ENERGY® 200 benefiting Living Beyond Breast Cancer." At Dover, thousands of NASCAR fans visited the LBBC booth to learn more about the programs and services they provide for diagnosed women and their families.


We also placed the LBBC logo on the hood of Clint Bowyer's No. 15 Toyota Camry at three races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.


Clint was a great sport and even participated in a “Yoga on the Track” event to help raise additional awareness for LBBC.


We also encouraged fans to join our Breast Cancer Awareness Month efforts with a few different contests. The #5hourGoesPink Photo Contest was a month long photo contest held on Facebook. The contest invited fans to show us their pink pride by submitting a photo of them wearing anything pink with the option of including a raspberry flavored 5-hour ENERGY® shot in the picture. We received some awesome submissions and were proud to see our fans going pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 15 lucky winners received a month's supply of their favorite 5-hour ENERGY® shot and a Living Beyond Breast Cancer grab bag fill of goodies.


In addition to the month long contest, we got some of the 5-hour ENERGY® athletes involved to help us spread the word. During October, we held week long sweepstakes where participants had the chance to win raspberry flavored 5-hour ENERGY® shots and pink gear from Clint Bowyer, Jim Furyk and the 5-hour ENERGY® p/b Kenda Racing Team.


So far these efforts have made a significant difference for LBBC.

• Since the program began, there have been more than 43,000 total visits to LBBC's website, and 73% were new users.
• LBBC's Breast Cancer Helpline received a 400% increase in calls from the same time in 2012.
• 5hourenergy.com was in the top five referring sites for the month of October, redirecting over 6,000 people to LBBC.org.
